Harvey loves the holiday season. It's something that he looks forward to every year. Spending time with family and friends and the ones he's closest to and cares for the most. There's always a spike in crime around the holidays of course, but the week of Christmas to New Year's is spent feeling more relaxed than most any other week of the year for Harvey.

Taking a break from his Christmas shopping, or maybe it will end up being a part of it -- he hasn't fully decided of that yet, Harvey ducks into a jewlery store and is greeted with smiles by the clerks and escorted over to look through cases of rings that he couldn't possibly choose just one from. He spends two hours looking through each one, examining the qualities and various styles until he finds one that he's sure is the right one.

He hadn't expected to walk in such a store much less make any purchases. The clerk assisting him smiles and wishes him good luck and a Merry Christmas. Harvey smiles brilliantly back at the woman and nods, saying the same back to her. In his mind, though, he's telling himself Happy New Year instead. The coming year is going to start looking up for Harvey Dent and that is definitely one slogan he can get used to and believe in for himself.

Okay here is the deal. I appreciate the thought and sentiment behind the love meme. I think it's awesome, but I don't feel comfortable doing it the way it's being done because I interact with a lot of people and I'd end up leaving someone out. So, if you want to know what I love about your muse and/or you as a writer comment here and I will let you know.

What is more difficult for you; looking into some one's eyes when you are telling someone how you feel, or looking into some one's eyes as they tell you how they feel?

A: Neither, really, but if I had to choose it would be when someone is telling me how they feel.

Think of the last time you were REALLY angry?

A: Okay, it's on my mind. And?

A: Rachel

A: I would tell a few key people in my life of the disease, but having cancer does not mean I am going to die. Nothing is impossible.

A: Find a way to beat it. Spend time with my family.

A: It would depend, but I would try not to be afraid. Worried, yes.

Dent Wins in Landslide Election

GOTHAM CITY - In a record-breaking voter turnout yesterday, Harvey Dent wins the bitter battle for Gotham City District Attorney. Dent gained an unprecedented 70% of the vote, achieving what many have said to be impossible. Exit polls showed voters in favor of Dent's strong passion for taking back Gotham City and taking quick action against the crime lords and corrupt officials that have plagued the city for much too long.

Dent vowed to campaign up until the polls closed yesterday saying, "It is important to me that my supporters know and see just how devoted I am not only to this campaign but to the city of Gotham and its citizens. Gotham is my family and with me in office I vow to target our city's enemies that have been running free in our streets for much too long."

Officials close to the Dent campaign confirm that once in office, Dent plans to prosecute city officials who have been involved in cooperating with mob bosses and Gotham's infamous drug dealers.

Many called for Dent to pull out of the District Attorney campaign after fundraising began to plummet and pull numbers dropping. Accusers blamed Dent of fabricating facts against city officials to strengthen his own reputation. All numbers made a tremendous shift after the incident at Rossi's Deli when Dent offered himself over as hostage to GPD officer Frank Notaro and later convincing the Notaro to turn himself in. This courageous act earned Harvey Dent the name of Gotham's "White Knight." Some remained skeptical of the incident, but a vast wave of support and ray of hope ran through the campaign and led to the landslide victory in which the city witnessed yesterday at the polls.

At the kick-off of the campaign victory party last night, Dent and his supporters were able to savor in the victory. In the midst of cheers and whistles, Dent could be heard from the podium, "This is not just a win for Harvey Dent. This is a win for the citizens of Gotham City. I have asked you all along to believe in this campaign and myself. I thank you for this chance and responsibility to prove to you and our city why I will not let you down. Together will take back our city."

She's supposed to just be someone that he works with at the office. Someone to work side-by-side with and have the same purpose and vision in mind. A safer Gotham, a better Gotham. It's been his passion since before he became an attorney and with the District Attorney position in his reach, Dent believes he can make that dream come true for both of them. It's her passion for it that sparks his true attention. Rachel Dawes is a beautiful woman, but she's so much more than a beautiful woman. Others may speak about turning Gotham into the city it was born to be, but there are few in his acquaintance that actually believe and practice it like Rachel does, like Harvey does himself.

They're working on a case together to try and bring down one of the new biggest crime lords of the city. A man they believed to have taken over Falcone's place. So many nights they stay late at the office working through files, reviewing testimony, pouring over the evidence. She's as determined as he is and that's just another quality in Rachel Dawes that Harvey finds admirable. So, he asks her for a date.

First it was dinner, then he settled for a coffee at her hesitation. It's not a date, she says are the coin toss lands in his favor, but Harvey just smiles and nods to himself. He had a feeling luck was on his side that night and he had been right.

She's not like the other women he's gone out with and Harvey believes himself to be the same in Rachel's eyes because she continues to see him. He doesn't let her excuses for work get in the way. They can work together, he will suggest with a smile. After all, they're both working towards the same goal. A better and safer Gotham. Rachel Dawes has become one of the reasons why Harvey Dent looks for the day Gotham is what it always could be and should have been all along.

Harvey Dent makes his own luck. Anyone who knows him knows his catch phrase when his decision-making tool is questioned. It's just a coin toss -- nothing at all fancy or difficult. A simple coin toss that decides Harvey's major decisions for him. Some decisions that seem inconsequential and others that could change his professional life. Heads I run for office, tails I sit back and wait until the time is right. Some decisions that could change his personal life. Heads you say yes to dinner, tails I won't bother you ever again. He does it so easily and with a smile on his face, never doubting himself.

"You shouldn't leave things like this up to chance." People will say to him. They think he's crazy. Harvey just smiles and lets the coin fall into his open hand. The coin shows heads. "I make my own luck," he says and the decision is made. So easy. He never loses. Harvey believes in himself. Why wouldn't everyone else?

The trick is Harvey has his own secret. It's one he learned from his father and carries on with the coin. Harvey claims to make his own luck, but that's not the real truth. Knowing the outcome before taking the chance isn't luck. It's confidence with a boyish smile. Perhaps he does make his own luck. It's not balanced or unbiased, but it's still his own.

It's supposed to be fair and balanced. That's what a coin toss is all about. An unbiased, fifty-fifty chance. It's the second fifty that people are often worried about when that coin is flipping over in the air. The half percent that it could land on the fifty no one wants to see. Harvey knows differently. Sometimes he enjoys watching the look on the person's face standing opposite to him. Wondering what if that coin lands on tails instead of Harvey's signature heads.
